Indian Idol 12: Regular tests for contestants Pawandeep Rajan, Arunita Kanjilal and more, strict mandates to keep corona away from the sets

Recently, Indian Idol 12 host Aditya Narayan had tested positive for COVID-19. That's not all as news also trickled in that his new wife, Shweta Agarwal, too has fallen prey to coronavirus, making it a precarious situation for the Narayan household. Aditya Narayan himself confirmed the news by posting it on social media. Taking to his official Instagram handle, the singer and host wrote: "Hello all! Unfortunately, my wife @shwetaagarwaljha & I have tested positive for Covid-19 & are in quarantine. Please stay safe, continue to follow protocol & do keep us in your prayers. This too shall pass."

Now, seeing how many on the set of Indian Idol season 12 may have come in contact with Aditya before his infection could be detected, the makers of the show are taking enhanced precautions to not only make sure that everyone else is coronavirus free, but also that there's as little chance as possible for another person to get infected, at least on set. Besides regular tests being conducted for contestants Pawandeep Rajan, Arunita Kanjilal and others, including the celebrity judges, Himesh Reshammiya, Neha Kakkar and Vishal Dadlani, word is that strict mandates are being observed on the show to ensure that COVID-19 cannot creep in from even the smallest of avenue. What's more, the celebrity guests coming on set are also expected to go through stringent safety protocols before appearing.

Recently, there has been an outcry on social media, with several netizens wondering why Bollywood and the TV industry is continuing to put themselves and others in danger, given the predicament we find ourselves in. And while we also understand that business can't come to a standstill, especially after the losses suffered during the first lockdown and considering the fact that working from home is not a conceivable option for the entertainment industry, it's also important that the upper echelons do everything in their power to make sure that safety is not compromised in the slightest. It's good to know that the makers of Indian Idol 12 are setting the right example now.
