Indian Idol 12 is one of the most popular reality TV shows in the country. There are a lot of fans of the show who religiously wait for the weekend and new episodes. However, this time around, Indian Idol 12 has been a part of a lot of controversies. Aditya Narayan has been asking fans to take them in a good humour way and in the end, it's just a TV show. Now, for the past couple of weeks, Indian Idol 12 hasn't had any eliminations. Fans are wondering as to why delaying and prolonging the show so much. Now, they have announced a powerplay round, wherein the contestant to secure the highest number of votes will get a chance to perform in the finale.
When asked about no eliminations, Aditya Narayan told the Times of India, "It's not the first season when the makers have decided to have no eliminations. There will be no eliminations for a few weeks. It's a collective call that the entire team, production, and channel has taken as our show has been on air since 25 weeks, and it has connected with viewers."
The musician-actor said that he would personally love to listen to amazing singers week after week. "As a music lover, I wouldn't mind listening to the exceptionally talented contestants week after week. And the viewers who have enjoyed watching the show would also like to see the talented contestants perform. They are truly superb and hard working. So, essentially, there won't be any eliminations, and votes from all weeks will be counted cumulatively, and then the eliminations will happen. We are just a few more weeks away from the finale now," The Tatad Tatad singer said.
As of now, nine contestants namely, Pawandeep Rajan, Shanmukha Priya, Sawai Bhatt, Anjali Gaikwad, Arunita Kanjilal, Sayli Kishore Kambli, Mohammed Danish, Nihal Tauro, and Ashish Kulkarni are pitied against each other for the title of Indian Idol 12. The current season is being judged by Neha Kakkar, Himesh Reshammiya and Anu Malik.
