Indian Idol 12 seems to be facing the wrath of fans. The Kishore Kumar special episode was criticised heavily by fans for the 'poor performances of the contestants'. Now, the show's host, Aditya Narayan, has defended the show and has said that the anger of people is due to the cancellation of the IPL.
In an interview to Bollywood Spy, he said, "I think do-teen hafte pehle IPL band hogaya. Uska saara gussa humpe nikal rahe hain (The IPL ended a couple of weeks ago. They are venting their anger at us)." He added that mummy papas have taken over the remote and they are watching Indian Idol. So the younger generation is unhappy. They don't know where to vent their anger.
He added, "Including myself, I feel this void too. As soon as it struck 7-7.30, I would get on it. I even made those cricket teams on phone apps. Over the last year and this year too, we are consuming anything that comes on TV a little too fervently. Only because we have too much time right now."
In the Kishore Kumar special episode, his son Amit Kumar was invited as the special guest. He later criticised the episode. He said that he didn't like the episode even a bit and wanted it stop. While fans have been calling Indian Idol 12 the worst season ever, host Aditya Narayan has shared his reaction on Amit Kumar's harsh criticism about the episode.
Wondering why Amit Kumar didn't express his feelings and unhappiness while shooting the episode, Aditya told Spotboye that Amitji has graced the show on multiple occasions and has always praised our contestants and the team. He added, "This time also he was lavish in his praise. In fact, he was kind enough to share so many personal stories on Kishore Da and we enjoyed and cherished each one. If he wasn't happy with certain aspects of the show he could have just told us during shoot and we would have been more than happy to try and accommodate his inputs."
