Oh No! Ranveer Singh’s Movie ‘Anniyan’ Hindi Remake Lands In LEGAL TROUBLE? Read Inside-

Ranveer Singh, as we know, is all set to collaborate with director S. Shankar for the Hindi remake of 2005’s hit Tamil film- ‘Anniyan’.

According to the latest buzz, Kiara Advani supposedly plays the female lead in the psychological action thriller.

However, the movie has got into the controversy of copyright much before it could go on floors this year. Producer Aascar Ravichandran, who bankrolled the original movie, learnt about the remake of his film from social media and sent a legal notice to Shankar.

In the letter, Ravichandran had claimed that he owns the sole right to the story of ‘Anniyan’ as its producer and can’t make a remake of the film without his consent.

And now, as per the latest ETimes report, the producer has decided to approach Madras High Court against Shankar and Jayantilal Gada, who is producing the remake.

The report further suggests that he has also filed a complaint against Shankar with the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce (SIFCC) and the body has told him to wait ‘as they have spoken to the film association in Mumbai’.

Ranveer’s ‘Anniyan’ movie remake in legal trouble?

Talking to the daily, Ravichandran stated, “I am going to court against Shankar and Jayantilal Gada. They cannot make the film without my consent as I own the copyright of the film and no other person has the right over it as I am the author of the movie.”

However, director Shankar had earlier responded to the producer’s complaint stating that ‘Anniyan’ was his script and everybody knows about it.
