All you need for this dish is boneless chicken coated in cornflour and five-spice powder. The chicken is then stir-fried and seasoned with chili, ginger, garlic, onion, and a freshly made schezwan sauce.

What is the required material for making schezwan at home?

  • 1/2 kg boneless chicken breast
  • 4 tbsp cornflour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 tsp dry spice powder

or this (OR)

  • 7 -8 dry red chilies
  • 2 tsp garlic (finely chopped)
  • 2 tbsp ginger (finely chopped)
  • chopped spring onion

For Sauce:

  • 100 ml chicken stock
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Chinese wine/
  • 1/4 tsp five-spice powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  • 2 tsp cornflour mixed with water

How to make Schezwan Chicken? know the process

First of all

  1. Coat chicken in cornflour, salt, and five-spice powder.
  2. Brush off the excess spice.
  3. Then, stir the chicken until lightly colored.
  4. After frying take the chicken out of the pan.
  5. Now put all the rest of the spices in the oil. Also add chili, garlic, and ginger.
  6. After cooking well for 30 seconds add onion and all sauce ingredients. When it comes to a boil, put the chicken back in the pan and heat through.
  7. Your schezwan chicken is ready. Taste it with fried rice or chow mein.
